Wedding Photojournalism.

If you like gritty, dynamic, emotional, artfully imperfect, palpably realistic photos, then you like photojournalism.

Why is genuine photojournalism catching on for weddings? Because it is so real! You get more expressiveness and more of a feel for the people and the moment.

Wedding photojournalism is spontaneous. And it's painless and fun and unposed and tells a story and ...even guys like it.

The true photojournalistic approach is simple to explain but not simple to do. It's just telling a story as it happened - effectively, all in one picture so there is little need for words. The best part is putting all those little story vignettes together to vividly convey the "big picture" of your day through a relatively few really powerful photographs.

And note that photojournalism is not just black and white (B&W) photography. In fact photojournalism doesn't have to be B&W at all, but these types of compositionally strong images often work best in B&W and almost always don't need color to survive. To the surprise of many, color is easier for a photographer to shoot than B&W.

Good luck in your quest for the right photographer and the perfect record of your day!
